Well I've relocated. I am living in Amarillo for the next 5 weeks after a non-ideal situation in Odessa. I miss everyone but it is for the best! Matt is being the wonderful person that he is and has taken my dogs for the next month. They are kinda hard to live without but he sends me updates all the time and I know they are in excellent hands.
31 more days! (really only 21 more of rotation!)
This is the type of thing that you have to deal with when you hand your life over to grad school, so I'm okay with it all. You have to take each day at a time and before you know it, you are moving on to the next chapter.
6 months til graduation!
7 months til Matt and I get married!
An Aggie's Red Raider
The story of a Red Raider, working on a doctorate, and planning a wedding to an Aggie. (I won't lie, my mom is doing most of the work!)

Garage Door
Sooo Mawmaw has an inside cat, Kitty, that is 20 something years old. She also has several outside cats that she feeds in her garage. It never fails that every time she opens the door from the house to the garage, my two dogs bolt in there to catch the cats and Mawmaw goes, "Ooooh no come on dogs!" (My girls don't listen when there are cats involved.) I tell her every time that she needs to tell me before she goes out there but it never happens. The inside cat is confined to Mawmaw's room because I'm very allergic and the dogs would have a field day with her. So Mawmaw's room smells terrible and she complains about her allergies all the time....probably because the stinky old cat sleeps on the bed with her.
She has to leave the garage door cracked at all times so that the cats can get in. Last night I closed it all the way and after we had already gone to bed I heard her get up, leave her room and go open it. That was no small feat either. It has to be at just the right amount so I heard the door go uuuupppp, doowwwwn, up, down, up, down, up, down.
At dinner tonight, as I was putting the first bite of food into my mouth, fork in mid air, Mawmaw says, "The cat threw up last night so I had to clean that up."
Mmmm!

Cat Food
Pray for the students on campus at A&M right now! There is a suspected gunman there and the campus is on lock down. Matt is at home, thank the Lord!
Came home to open cat food cans sitting around the house. Nothing like walking into eau de Fancy Feast Fish Supreme! I threw them away quickly then took out the trash. Don't know what Mawmaw was saving those for...and she wonders why there are gnats in the kitchen...I told her it was probably the half-eaten bananas she'll sit on the counter for days but I guess it could be the cat food too.
Gotta run. I am still technically in school so I still have to do presentations and stuff. Yay!

World Series
During the first game of the World Series tonight, Mawmaw reads me a magazine...recipes and all...and she read me a few articles that she already read to me last week. She is trying to go through all her magazines and decide which ones she wants to keep and which ones she wants to throw away. I guess she's making it through all of them a second time and doesn't realize it though, because I've already heard about how 66% of Americans age 14-25 take more acetaminophen than they realize and that acetaminophen toxicity can be fatal. I also learned how to make a killer pie crust and a mean marshmallow meringue in the bottom of the 4th. She is only trying to help though. At least tonight she wasn't trying to figure out the catcher's signals....like last week. :)

To start off...
I was inspired tonight to start blogging. I enjoy reading other people's blogs but have never really considered starting my own until some dear friends of mine made me realize that I have to write some of this stuff down!
I am a fourth year pharmacy student...and I LOVE it! School for 7 years is not anyone's idea of fun but I've been blessed with great experiences and I've learned so much that books could never teach me during this process. This last year (I graduate in MAY!!!) we have 8 six-week rotations and two "Grand Rounds" presentations before graduation. I am so BLESSED that 3 of my rotations are in locations that allow me to live in my hometown, with my grandmother. I have been here for 5 weeks so far and I don't have time to get anything done for rotation because I would rather go to pee-wee football games, Wednesday night dinner at church, Nerts tournaments, and anything else that is going on in town.
Not even a month after receiving my doctorate, I'll get to marry my sweet Matt. We've been dating for a few years and he asked me to be his wife last Christmas. I could not have asked God for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. Our biggest hurdle though, is Big 12 team preference. I bleed red and black (Wreck 'em Tech), and he is a Fightin' Texas Aggie. I'm honestly rooting for A&M to go to the SEC so that we won't be playing against each other (to spare him the annual beating, of course).
Besides getting to have a social life again, I get to hang out with older men during the day at the VA and I get to live with my sweet Mawmaw. She will be the highlight of this blog, I'm sure. She makes me laugh daily and has the sweetest heart of anyone I know. If she could, she would save all the cats in Martin County and let them live in her backyard. I have thrown a wrench in that plan though since I brought my two dogs here to live with me. She also has no filter and everything that pops into her mind comes right out her mouth. This is very entertaining.
Well I'll write more soon....got Taylor Swift's new album on iTunes today. In the Prologue of the digital booklet, she says:
"I think most of us fear reaching the end of our life, and looking back regretting the moments we didn't speak up. When we didn't say "I love you." When we should've said "I'm sorry." When we didn't stand up for ourselves or someone who needed help. ....There is a time for silence. There is a time waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel, and you so clearly know what you need to say, you'll know it. I don't think you should wait. I think you should speak now."
I admire that girl! She is so talented.
